Inside Mural

Inside an studtent house by a private company i realized this color intense work. The piece is painted on a dark background color and made with few, but really intense colors. If you look closer to the work you discover a lot of different layers, done with different spray and paint techniques. This piece will be iluminated at night and visible from outside the building. This piece is located inside a staircase with large windows

Untitled Work (Bicycle ticket) on large metal doors

For a private housing company i realized a large sized work on three metal doors - each around 5m high and 6m wide. The color composition was developed out of the architecture/structure of the doors. The pieces shows a mix of projector transfered photographies, free hand drawings , a transfered trainticket for a bicycle and colorsplashes.

Infinite Transportation - a tribute to the never stopping traffic flow

From May 27 to June 3, I realized the large-format mural "Infinite Transportation" - in German "Der Unendliche Verkehr". The mural can be seen at the new hotel Antonstraße 43 in Dresden.

I revisit the basic form of the upright infinity loop in this work. Already in 2013, I used the vertical infinity sign for the series "Train of Infinity" and let international trains draw circles forever. The vertical loop adapts optimally to the vertical length of the façade.

On closer inspection, you can see on the one hand rail, air, bus, bicycle and boat traffic, on the other hand you will also find hidden details like revereing to underground cultures such as the "Hipster Hobo" and a rave party under the bridge, the hashtag #Metatreno painted on a freight train or a moving house on a freight car - a reverence to Adams & Itso's art pieces.
The work also reflects current aspects and discussions about transport policy. Cargo bikes and electric powered drone aircraft can be seen in the upper and lower areas.

Many more details await the lingering observer day and night. The artwork will be visible at night after completion of the building in dimmed light. The work was realized with a mixture of façade paints and acrylic spray paints. all photos by Sven Ellger

During my stay in Kassel I realized an inside mural for Sanderhaus - travelling and moka again. Thanx again to Gerrit of Kolorcubes project in Kassel. Ghettoresidency continues in 2018. And because it's important to announce where it is I did a fresh new decoration of Ghettoresidencys public displays. Check it out in Dresden - Braunsdorfer Str. 23/25 (backyard/garden side).

More murals from 2016

This is a mural painted in Dresden-Prohlis without sketch. Painted like a street bombing piece. And while you paint you get an idea what it deals with. This one is about panel and T2B sized works on trains - compared to a wall. Mural in Dresden-Prohlis The Flying Spaghetti Monster above all During the LackStreicheKleber - Festival 2016 I painted some works at Groove Station Dresden. This one shows the flying spaghetti monster above the arms of an unknown priests group.

New Untitled Mural in Dresden-Cotta

Untitled Mural in Dresden Cotta This untitled Mural is a commissioned work for a Dresden based housing cooperative called "housing cooperative of train workers". It's naturally that the housing cooperative fits to my drawing topics. It was easy to suggest them the idea for this mural which consists of two walls on two sides of a small street. I'm really happy about the result. It was hard work priming the wall to get strong and clear colors. Using the masking tape to get perfect shapes with straight lines took a lot power, too. "Muralists Paradise"

Last summer i did a parody on current muralism development on a wall in Dresden. I had the sketch done some days before I did this comissioned passage way in Dresden-Neustadt. You see houses just made of huge walls - perfect for muralism, but nonsense for living.

In recent years a huge recognition goes to huge murals by few artists. Before institutionalization of contemporary muralism coming from graffiti background, we had a much wider recognition of different artists and styles. People not just liked big walls, because of their impressive size.

The current development which seems like „Hey Girls - I got the biggest dig" or "hey boys - i got the biggest titties“ is not the way i thought about when i started to draw on walls in public and did projects such as muralismo morte. The recent development of an usage of muralism just for beautification is boring and one-dimensional.

I want to continue in muralism, but a new way should be found - maybe smaller, maybe collaborations again, maybe big stuff again, but a different content - let’s see what happens in 2016 ;)

Fractals - New Stickers and prints

Fractals - prints on german postal stickers I started to do new prints on paper and during the printing process i thought: „ Why don’t you print some unique stickers again - like in 2003. Unique pieces for the public - not just digital shit, like advertisment.“ In this way my new silk screen printed series „Fractals“ worked out. „Traditional German“ Street Art style on postal sticker - I still love these postal stickers. Some are already spread over the world - pictures you can find on my photostream Some more examples Fractals series
