During my stay at Black Circle I met a lot of ukrainian artists. Some of them took time to do collaborations. Here s a collabo with eas from Krementschuk.
One night we had terrible strong rain. To survive the rain and not just sitting in the tents we started to sing and move like Indians around our fire place. Out of this movement we performed the "Karimata Brigada Dance" - the "Thermal Mat Brigade Dance". As a tribute to that crazy night i painted a mural.
For the whole week we stayed offline and we had a lot of talks and a nice time in the outback. In between also some deep thoughts about urban art theory.
Thanks a lot to the whole Black Circle Crew !
Once again Aris and me were invited by Kulturanker e.V. to realize a large sized work inside the former prison of Magdeburg.
Last year we made huge pasted works for the show „Sinnlichkeit“ .
This time we painted directly on the wall. A relaxed huge collaboration during nice sunny days. Thanx a lot to Kulturanker e.V. and the whole prison-team - especially Patrick.
During the second day of my stay in Riadh i explored the area around the Hotel. I found an abandoned house where it was possible to paint in a hidden alley because of strong shadows. In the building a Saudi lives who decided not to live the normal "Saudi-life". He uses a bicycle to buy the daily newspapers - A "real" Saudi always uses his car. He lives in that house without comfort like air condition.
But he was really relaxed and peacefull. He liked the works we did there and said "thanks for the cool stuff " - I was suprised about his good spoken english.
That's why my last work at this spot included his bicycle and is called "Feel free". The piece is done with oilstick and smashed sprays.
At the same house I did a second workshop with locals. We painted the ground to connect the walls to a huge piece. It was a crazy action, because we smahsed nearly all the cans which we took to the place and it smelled extremly.
Today was the first day in 2016 to draw a mural. It was above zero degree and Stefan Schwarzer from Halle visited me in Dresden. We went to an abandoned factory in the outskirts of Dresden to look out for a nice spot to do a quick collaborative work.
We did a nice interaction drawing like back in the days when we did„ Neue Welt “ (New World) in 2010 .
I hope in spring we start to do more works like this - today it was still freezing cold.
I'm really happy to announce that Vilx and me won the 3rd prize at Sinnlichkeit 2015 in Magdeburg. I'm really surprised by the decision of the jury, but happy for sure. The spontanous work by Vilx and me was done on a sunny sunday afternoon at the former prison in Magdeburg.
The piece is drawn on pasted paper and is part of the "Antimurals" pieces at "Sinnlichkeit 2015".
This Saturday riesa efau opens the new building called Kulturforum - a great space for shows, workshops and discussions.
On the very same day Rosenwerk opens officially. The former "Werkstadtladen" moved into a new building near to S-train stop Freiberger Straße. We do start painting a wall inside. You can visit this huge DIY lab and explore their workshops. They have an amazing wood shop, laser cutter, 3-d printer and a lot more things to explore.
If you like to see the work more detailed just click on the foto.
After that i moved in direction to the coast to meet up with the most talented street artist (in my eyes) from Bulgaria - Fars. He is not just talented , he is extremly active. While my stay of 4 days in the city of Varna, we went out painting every single day. He showed me a lot of different sights of Varna. We painted at the beach, inside a socialist monument , along the trainline and on a well frequented underpass. All the works were done without permission, but the people enjoyed our works - they offered us drinks (at the beach) or just said "nice work and good luck".
Here just one impression - more follow soon, after I hold my final presentation in Sofia at Goethe Institut on 16th of June. An eventlink is coming soon. I'm in Varna again on 12th at the contemporary space to show some of my works in an artist talk.
My next stop is Russe - Here i hold my presentation on 3rd of June at Dom Elias Canetti - all infos you can find on the link ( infos exist as well in Български )
Between 2005 and 2009 a series of unauthorized exhibitions took place in Dresden called - "Die Abrisshaussessions" ( abandoned buildung sessions)
